Shirley Ann (McCreight) Scruggs

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Shirley Ann Scruggs of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, born in Gastonia, North Carolina on August 08, 1943 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the age of 78.

Shirley joined her late husband of 60 years, First Sergeant Carroll Gerald Scruggs, on his birthday.

Shirley was a faithful military wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her many flowers, canning, holiday celebrations and caregiving of her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Carlos McCreight, Ruby McCreight, Ruth McCreight. Her siblings Katie Clark, Carolyn Holland, Patsy Ballantine, David McCreight, Carlos (Bobby) McCreight, Jr. and Buddy Bowen.

She is survived by five children, Carroll Scruggs, Jr. (Missy), Debbie Scruggs (Scott), Richie Scruggs (Tammy), Eddie Scruggs ( Cindy) and Gary Scruggs. Sister-in-laws, Anne Stanley (Richard) and Ollie Garmon; step-sister, Kay Schambacher (Tom). 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley will be laid to rest in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia where she will join her sweetie, Carroll (Jerry) Scruggs.

There will be a Memorial Service held on Sunday, June 05, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Westover Baptist Church, 114 Westover Drive, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
