David Zenus Woods

SHELBY - David Zenus Woods, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2023 while at the home of Tracy and Jeff Ledbetter and under the care of Hospice of Carolina Foothills of Forest City. He was born in Grover, NC to the late Lindsey and Louise Horton Woods. He is also predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Elizabeth "Betsy" Cash Woods; brother, Bynum Woods.

David leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughters, Judy Selvey and husband, Steve and Tracy Ledbetter and husband, Jeff; step-son, Kevin Seagroves; grandchildren, Hunter Ledbetter, Dalton Ledbetter, Kristen Yancey and Lauren Newman; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Latinville, Faye Patton and Janice Woods; numerous nieces and nephews. 

He served in the United States Army. He went to work as a Loom Operator and Pattern Designer in Textiles. He had a love for fishing. Most of his years were spent on the water fishing with family and friends. His children and grandchildren were his reason for living and he provided well for them. He was a hard worker and loved the outdoors. He will forever be in our hearts.

A Military Honors Ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, 132 East College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28151 with the Cleveland County Honor Guard officiating. A Gathering of Friends and Family Memorial Service will be held from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. following the Military Honors Service at the home of Tracy and Jeff Ledbetter, 117 Mooresboro Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
