SHELBY - William Gene Melton, age 71, passed away on Saturday, February 08, 2020 at Peak Resources, Shelby. He is predeceased by his wife Ann Melton; son, Jimmy Apple; grandson, Jacob Apple; parents, Billy Gene and Margia Deanne Bray Melton; sister, Judy Melton.

He was born in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked on a Commercial Farm as a Foreman for most of his life. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and uncle and will truly be missed.

William leaves behind to cherish his memories his sons, Tim Melton, William Melton, Jr., Troy Melton and David Apple (Katie) of Gastonia; daughter, Christie Couch; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandson; daughter-in-law, Sarah Melton; brothers, Bobby Melton and Donnie Melton; sister, Kathy Reed; sister-in-law, Jean Quinn of Piedmont, AL; niece, Dawn Quinn.
