Virgil Ransom Smart

SHELBY - Virgil  (Buddy) (Cowboy) Ransom Smart, age 76, born August 01, 1943, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at home.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Forest Curtis and Susie Pauline Ivey Smart.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marlin Denise Smart.

Virgil is survived by one son, Buddy (Chopper) Smart of Boiling Springs; two daughters, Shelia (Penny ) Smart of Boiling Springs and Lora Swink and husband, Perry of Shelby; grandchildren, Brandi Pardo and husband Alex, Katherine Bumgardner and husband Kevin, Dakotah Smart and wife, Sierra, Jeremy Swink, Nicolas Swink, Brittney Smart and Kurt Smart; five great-grandchildren.

The family would also like to express their appreciation to Betty Jenkins and Joe Ubertaccio for the care, comfort and support they have provided during this very difficult past year.

The family will hold a Private Memorial Service.
