Timmy Bennett, Sr. Obituary

ELLENBORO - Timmy Lee Bennett Sr. of Ellenboro NC, passed away from COVID pneumonia this September 21st, 2021.

He is survived by his two children, Crystal Rodriguez (Paul) and Timmy Bennett, Jr. (Alisha); brothers and sisters, Nan Tessiner (Arnold), Patsy Boone, Diane Bennick (Ted), David Bennett, Bruce Bennett (Linda), Scott Bennett (Starla),Teddy Bennett and Calvin Bennett; far more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family than this newspaper can print out.

He was greeted in heaven by his beautiful daughter April Lynn Bennett; momma and daddy, Bertha Mae and Conway Bennett; brother, JE Bennett along with JE’s beautiful wife Jackie Bennett; brother-in-law, Ronnie Boone.

He was a father, grandpa, brother, uncle, best friend…Superman really, to everyone he ever met. He could fix anything, and if it couldn’t be fixed, well then, it was junk. He could tear a complete car down to the frame, then put it all back together again and have it running better then before. The saying goes, “He would give you the shirt off his back” just doesn’t cover it for Tim. It’s more like, he would literally give you the last dollar in his pocket, a room in his home to rest your head, a hug and kiss on the forehead to tell you “it’s going to be okay”, and then yes, if you could fit into his clothes then they were yours as well. Tim never had a harsh word for a single person on this planet, he always spoke of forgiveness and love. It didn’t matter if you came from the jail house or the church house, you got the same amount of love, respect and quite possibly the biggest bear hug that he had to give and did so freely, probably around two dozen times a day. If you needed advice he gave it, always reminding you to forgive and to love. If you needed a tune-up on your car or someone to take off your trash, Tim did it never asked for a dime, and you would be left feeling like you did him a favor.

His hangout at the BP gas station will never be the same, without his smiling face and hug for nearly everyone that walked in the door. Thanksgivings will be much harder for his sweet friend April and his adopted grandchildren and brothers. Christmas morning breakfast with his daughter and grandkids will be a lot less bright. All the birthday parties by the pool with his son and grandchildren, will now leave an empty seat. Family get togethers, sisters, brothers, aunts, and uncles, will now leave a gaping hole that will never be fixed. For me personally, his daughter, his “baby girl”, for Father’s Day I will always remember to celebrate my hero, my superman, my dad. The world should mourn this loss on Sept 21, 2021 at 2:15pm. His bright light left this world, and now the world is a little dimmer.
