SHELBY - Shirley Temple Osborne Markland, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 07, 2021 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Markland; daughter, Della Markland; parents, James and Chloe Osborne; one brother; four sisters.

Shirley is survived by her son, Tony Markland (Sandy); daughter, Deidra Markland; grandson, David Markland (Christal); great-grandchildren, Dakota and Kaylee Markland.

Shirley was a homemaker who cherished her family and doted on her grandchildren. Shirley came from a musical family and taught her husband to play guitar. Her son plays banjo and they had a family band for more than 30 years. Shirley sang lead and was well known for her excellent bluegrass vocals. Both daughters also sang with the band periodically. The family bluegrass tradition is till carried on by her son and grandson.
