Roy Dale Hensley

Roy "Dale" Hensley, age 60, of Rutherford, County, North Carolina was born in Cleveland County May 25, 1965. Mr. Hensley passed away peacefully at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Dale was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He attended RS Central High School. He was a truck driver and also worked as a Carpet and Floor Covering  Installer. He loved picking guitars and playing music.

He is preceded in death by his father, Grady Hensley and his mother, Lillie Hensley; one sister, Janice Byrd; one granddaughter, Jada Tucker.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Elizabeth Pilgrim of Forest City, NC, Jennifer Laughter (Jason) of Mooresboro, NC, Catherine Tucker (David) of Bracey, VA and Crystal Branigin (Casey) of Foley, AL; significant other, MaryAnn Black; one sister, Delores Hensley Jones; loyal companion and shadow, Abbigail; three Honorary children, Daniel Black (Megan) of Bostic, NC, Crystal Chambers (Chris) of Greeneville, TN and Jason Black (Joy) of Forest City, NC; a host of grandchildren; one great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 05, 2025 at Oak Springs Baptist Church, 2625 Rock Road, Union Mills, NC 28167.
