Rev. Dr. Robert Thad Parsons, Jr. beloved husband, father and grandfather left this world for his home in Heaven on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. 

He leaves his beloved wife Gwen; son, Robert Thad Parsons III; stepchildren, Tami Scism, Tracy Stafford (Steve), Jeffery Scism (Bryte); grandchildren, Etta and Mina and their mother, Jill Parsons, Aimee White (Greg), Jessica White (Guy), Christopher Hoyle, Jereka Stafford, Maegan Scism and Linkin Scism; great-grandchildren, Lily, Landrey, Zane, Eli, Abbi, Layla, Finley, Emma and Haven; sisters, Shirley Rogers, Marie Lang (Wayne) and Charity Steele (Gene);other family members, Lora and John Greene, Nanci and Jon Stott and Tim Crotts.

Robert pastored several churches in his 50 years of service for the Lord. He taught 12 years at Gardner Webb University. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday March 24, 2023 at New Bethel Church of Shelby, 706 Hamrick Street, Shelby, NC 28150. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall. Interment immediately following the service at Sunset Cemetery, Shelby, NC.
