HENDERSONVILLE - Rafi Jamelle Assad, 65, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Rafi was a native of Southern Pines, NC. He was born December 25, 1955 to the late James S. Assad, Jr. and Rosa Mae Whitaker Assad. Rafi was the owner and operator of Guardian Angel Properties in Hendersonville, NC for many years.

Rafi is preceded in death by his father James S. Assad, March 23, 2021 and stepmother, Linda Sapp Assad, June 7, 2020.

He is survived by four loving daughters, Gabbie Provence (Ryan), of Swannanoa, NC, Zia Assad of Asheville, NC, Angel Assad of Asheville, NC and Ayla Assad (Josh Lindsey-fiance') of Fuquary-Varina, NC; his only grandchild and love of his life, Stevie Provence; sister, La’Wana A. Abernathy (Preston) of Apopka, FL; brother Karl Najib Assad (Debbie) of Blacksburg, SC; three nieces and two nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Asheville, NC that will be announced at a later date.
