Larry Jerome Cook

RUTHERFORDTON - Larry J. Cook, Sr., age 83, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022.

Larry was born May 11th, 1939, in Alabama to the late Grover and Mattie Cook. He was their 10th and youngest child. He married DeLilah Lee on May 4th, 1957 and they had five children together.

He was a car enthusiast and an animal lover and brought home many of both interests that needed a good home.

He worked as a Truck Driver for various companies including a concrete company that paved the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Later, he went on to work for Carolina Freight Trucking Company and worked for them until he retired.

He was preceded in death by all his siblings.

Left to cherish fond memories are his former wife, Delilah Cook; son, Larry Cook, Jr.; daughters, Georgianna Huffer, Lisa Silver, Lilah Cook and Jennifer Price; grandsons, Brock Elam and Cody Cook; granddaughters, Morgan Henson, Taylor Elam and Jordyn Jackson.

He also had one great grandson, Evan Henson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Alabama.

The Family will have a Private Service at a later date.
