ELLENBORO - John was born in Paintsville, KY on January 7, 1968. He proudly served in the Army as an Army Ranger. He was on the front lines during the First Gulf War. He passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 31, 2022 in his hometown of Ellenboro, NC. John loved the outdoors. John loved animals. John loved hunting. John was an avid collector.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Eugene Spears Sr.; mother, Freda Akers Spears; brother, Orbin Earl Spears; sister, Deborah V. Spears; sister, Cheri M. Skidmore. John is survived by his ex wife, Christina V. Spears; daughter, Olivia M. Spears; son, Sebastian Jack Spears; brother, Harold Eugene Spears Jr.; sister-in-law, Moon Spears; Virgilio A Cuevas Sr. and Assunta V. Cuevas; nieces, Ashley Cuevas, Alyssa Cuevas, Ariel Cuevas and their mother Darlene Cuevas. John was loved by his family and friends around the world.
