James Emmett Stepp, Jr.

James Emmett Stepp, Jr. passed away on Friday, September 05, 2025 while at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born to Jean Putnam Stepp and the late James Stepp, Sr. in Cleveland County. He is also predeceased by his grandparents, Emmett Stepp (Stella) and Frank Putnam (Edna).

Left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters, Michelle Stepp Spurling and Angie Greene and spouse, Mike Greene; step-son, Alec Senter and his children; nephews, Corey Greene and spouse, Christina Greene, Casey Greene and Seth Spurling; niece, Sara Spurling; great-niece, Alora Greene.

James worked at Shelby Transmission Specialists for 30 years. He loved listening to the Rolling Stones and  Classic Rock. He enjoyed smoking BBQ, watching Football and NASCAR Racing. He also enjoyed Muscle Cars. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Your love will forever remain in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on September 20, 2025 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church,  123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby, North Carolina 28152. Receiving of friends will be held one hour prior to service.
