LAWNDALE - James Lee Melton, 64, Cleveland County native, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Cleveland County Hospice of Wendover. He is predeceased by his wife, Michelle Melton of Shelby; parents, Homer and JoAnn Lowery of Shelby,

James leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Kelly Melton of Lawndale; son-in-law, TeeJay Lawrence of Lawndale; son, Casey Melton of Shelby; grandchildren, Aliyah Graham, Caiden Graham, Brett Graham, Kinsley Lawrence all of Lawndale, Holden Melton, Nova Melton and Olivia Melton all of Shelby; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gary Self of Shelby; brother, Tim Lowery of Shelby; brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Julie Lowery of Shelby; brother and sister-in-law, Denise and Glen Melton of Shelby; nieces, Megan Dixon, Heather Hunsinger and Faith Newton all of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to sit and watch the boys fish. He was a very good-hearted man and loved to help anybody that needed it. Most of all he loved the Lord.
