DENVER - James "Jim" S. Hovanec, Sr., 65, formerly of Beaver, PA passed away suddenly in his home in Denver, N.C., on Monday, September 30, 2019. Born July 28, 1954, in Beaver, Pa., a son of the late Steve and Elizabeth Hovanec.
Jim "Sal" was survived by his love and "Babe" for the last 18 years, Deborah Carlin; his children, James (Angela) S. Hovanec, Jr., Jennifer (Justin) Tice, Christina Brown, and Cynthia Brown; as well as his grandchildren, Austin, Zoey and Ashton Tice, Seana and Quintin Mahovlic and Jahnaiya Toney.
Jim was known for his incredible generosity, witty sense of humor and fun use of puns and "dad" jokes. One of the fondest memories his grandchildren had of Jim was him saying "He was with us too short a time, but like they say: time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana." Jim loved playing pool and riding his prized Harley Davidson. Jim retired from work in the nuclear field as an RP technician. He was cherished by many and will be greatly missed.
No services will be provided per Jim's request.
