James Edward Alley, Jr.

SHELBY - James Edward Alley Jr, “Jamie”, 56, of Cleveland County, passed away January 04, 2021 after a lengthy illness involving kidney failure, heart disease and sarcoidosis. James was born on May 05, 1965 to James Edward Alley Sr. and Virginia Byers Alley in Shelby NC.  James Graduated from Burns High School.  James operated King James Bible Bookstore and Discount Grocery in upper Cleveland County with his parents for many years prior to his illness.

James was faithfully involved with several Christian ministries and outreaches and attended church faithfully prior to his illness. James was a member of Buffalo Baptist in Shelby NC.  James’ faith remained strong throughout his medical battle.  James knew he "would either get better and go home or he would go home and get better" words spoken by his mother Virginia Elizabeth Alley who preceded him in death.

James was also preceded in death by his brother, Sammy Dale Alley.  James is survived by his father James Edward Alley Sr;  three children Al, Hannah and Faith Alley; sisters, Sandra (Alan) Cooke and Tammy (Vik) Kapoor; brother, Robert (Ruby) Alley; many nephews and nieces.

A Private Service to be held at Calvary's Cross Baptist Church in Polkville NC, January 08, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with close family and friends.  Attendees requested to be vaccinated or masked due to immune compromised family members.
