Frank Godzik Obituary

LAKE LURE, NC -  Frank David Godzik,  age 80, born April 29th, 1942, passed away peacefully at home with Hospice Care and family at his bedside in Lake Lure NC . He was born in Danvers MA  to the late Anna Morse Godzik and Frank Joseph Godzik . His sister Jean George from Swampscott MA also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Godzik, whom he married in 1964, and his two loving children Bruce Alexander Godzik of Chimney Rock NC and Kristina Lee Rice, of Sorrento FL, and a brother Steven Godzik of Danvers MA as well as many nieces and nephews in TX , VA, NH, and MA.

His final days were shared with visits from his three grandchildren, Deanna Peterman of Tampa FL, Jessica Rice of Deltona FL and Kevin Rice of Zellwood FL.

Frank was a graduate of Berwick Academy in Maine where he was an avid ice hockey player. He studied Business Administration at Northeastern University in Boston MA. He worked in his family's Allenhurst restaurant in Danvers MA , as well as at the Miami Springs Villas Country Club and later at the Orlando Country Club.  Frank was the Administrator of an Assisted Living Facility called Henry Davis House Inc. where he and his wife owned and operated the facility for 24 years In Orlando FL.

They both retired to Lake Lure to enjoy their farm and many animals in 2005. His dog JJ gave him special comfort in the past 16 years. His recent passions were working with his son Bruce while dressed as a sheriff at Coffee on the Rocks and Old Time Photos in Chimney Rock NC . Frank also dressed up as Santa Claus for the delight of children at many Christmas events and at Chimney Rock State Park and Tryon International Equestrian Center.

After cremation a Private Family Celebration of Life will follow at an undetermined place and date.
