Dewey Lee Oaks

GROVER - Dewey Lee Oaks, 62, Cleveland County native, passed away way too soon, on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Atrium Healthcare Cleveland. He is predeceased by his previous wife, Sue Roper Oaks; mother, Carolyn Porter Philbeck and husband Ray Philbeck; father, George Dewey Oaks, Jr; sister, Christina Alford; brother, Allen Philbeck.

Dewey leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Lynn Philbeck Todd; son, Howard Oaks; daughters, Brandi Powell and husband Kenneth, Michelle West and husband John West, Tiffany Oaks, and Crystal Ogles Alaima and husband Chris Alaima; grandchildren; Abigayle Powell and boyfriend Josh Allen, Kimberly Powell, Kenneth Powell, Isaiah Mathews, Ma'layia McDowell, Savannah Logan, Daisha Weathers, Daniel Taylor, Danielle Taylor, Brett Alaima and Brittany West; several great-grandchildren; brother, James Oaks; sisters, Sharon Kelly and husband Keith Kelly, Leah Oaks, Leeann Davenport, Loretta Harrison and husband Kenneth Harrison and Regina Halsey and husband Steve Halsey; step-mother, Jane Oaks.

After serving in the United States Army, Dewey worked in Construction. He liked working on things in the yard and playing with grandchildren and watching cartoons with them. He will forever be in our hearts.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Ledford Grove Baptist Church, 327 E Double Shoals Rd, Lawndale, NC 28090. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
