Cleofus Monroe Piercey

Cleofus "Buddy" Monroe Piercey, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026 while at his home surrounded by his devoted and loving family. He was born in Cleveland County, NC to the late C.O. Piercey and Gertrude Piercey. He is also predeceased by his wife, he loved dearly for 35 years, Dianne Piercey; son, Mike Piercey; daughter, Dian Piercey; grandson, Chris Crawley; brothers, Herman and James Piercey; sisters, Jessie, Sue, Patsy and Martha Piercey.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tina McClellan (fiance', Tracy Pearson); son, Doug Piercey; granddaughter, Sarah McClellan, Lisandra Piercey, Chastity Piercey Henson (husband, Josh Henson) and Cassidy Piercey; grandson, chad Piercey (wife, Crystal Piercey); numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

 Buddy was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendant for many years. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years from 1959 to 1963. He retired from being Supervisor at PPG Fiberglass over 30+ years. 

He loved fishing, planting a big garden every year and working in the yard. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by so many.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 07, 2026 at Fork Creek Baptist Church, 2741 Camp Creek Road, Union Mills, North Carolina with Military Honors.
