In Loving Memory of Carla Ann Smith Gentry (June 4,1963 – May 9, 2025)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carla Ann Smith Gentry, who left us peacefully on May 9,2025.
She was a beacon of strength, resilience, and love—a woman who, despite life’s many challenges, never wavered in her determination to push forward.
Born to the late Paul Thomas Smith and Farrell Rae Anthony Smith on the Tachikawa Air Base In Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan.
Those who knew her, witnessed her unshakeable resolve to live life on her terms, taking on hardships with quiet courage and grace. She never allowed the sorrow of her past to define her, instead, choosing to live with an open heart, full of love for her family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She was a woman of immense warmth, and boundless love. Among the many simply joys she cherished, she always found comfort and peace in the golden light of the sun soaking in its warmth as she did the love of our family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, tenacity, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her smile and sense of humor always brought a smile to everyone around her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her Husband: Carl Gentry, Children: Krystal, husband Steven and Ashlee , husband Caleb Grandchildren: Julian, Zackary, Elijah, Carly, Lyra Brothers: Paul Smith and wife Mary Lou Smith and David Smith and wife Stephanie Smith, late sister Wanda Smith and survived sister Rita.
She will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her kindness and spirit. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her parents and sister, under the bright, warm sun that she loved so much.
Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
