Brandon Simpson Obituary

MONROE, NC - Brandon Tyron Simpson was born to Terry S. Massey and the late Elliott Jerome Threatt on January 1, 1986 in Charlotte, NC. Brandon departed this life on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC. 

Brandon attended public school in Union County, NC. He is a 2004 graduate of Monroe High School in Monroe, NC. Brandon furthered his education at South Piedmont Community College and earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Brandon was employed at Greiner Bio-One North America in Monroe, NC. In 2019, less than a year after he became employed with the company, Brandon was promoted to supervisor. In June of this year, Brandon became engaged to Nadia Delong and they had planned a wedding for next year.

Brandon was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC. He later joined First Church of God, Monroe, NC. Brandon enjoyed studying the word of God in Bible Study. 

Brandon loved all types of music and enjoyed traveling to different places. Brandon was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. He was also known by the family as the great debater. 

In 2015, Brandon was devastated by the news of having Renal Failure and was in need of a kidney. He went to dialysis but never missed a day of work or school. His faith remained strong knowing he would receive a kidney. In 2016, Brandon and his family received the remarkable news that a kidney was found, and it was a perfect match. God had answered their prayers.

Brandon was preceded in death by his father Elliott J. Threatt; Stepfather, Donnie Carelock; Maternal grandparents, Wade and Madie Simpson; Paternal grandparents, Purvis Threatt and
Barbara Patterson and a host of uncles and aunts.

Brandon leaves to cherish his memories to his mother Terry S. Massey, stepfather James Massey and grandmother, Marie Simpson of Wingate, NC. Six brothers, Travis Simpson (kyliegh), Montrae Threatt, Tipton Indiana. James Massey Jr., Martavious Allen, and Demaris Allen, Monroe, NC. Deshawn Massey, Pageland, SC. Two sisters, Kayla Threatt, of Monroe, NC and Kenya Allen, of Greensboro, NC. One nephew whom he loved dearly, Adrian J. Simpson, of Spain. Aunt, Crystal Sutton (Leon), Monroe, NC. Uncles, Willie Simpson (Annette), Charles Simpson (Catherine), and Wayne Simpson (Patricia), all of Wingate, NC. Rodney Rorie, Monroe, NC. Leon Threatt, LaMar Threatt and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to name.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 601 Adams Street, Monroe, Union County, North Carolina with Pastor Floyd Bowen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Cemetery.
