FOREST CITY - Mr. William "Bill" Joe Roberts Sr., age 81, a native of Cleveland County passed away surrounded by his family on February 2, 2018 at Hospice House of the Carolinas Foothills. He was born to the late Joe Thomas and Lois Owens Roberts in Belwood, NC. He is also predeceased by two brothers, Charles Roberts and John Roberts; sisters, Pauline Thrift, Betty Roberts, Francis Laws and Linda Lane.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memories a son, Chris Roberts; grandchildren, Dalton Roberts 20, Ethan Roberts 10, and Cadie Roberts 13; one brother, Grady Roberts; one sister, Margaret Norris.

Bill served in the United States Air Force as a Police Officer. He was stationed in England and served in Germany, Spain and Italy and fought during the Korean War. He loved Bluegrass music, music festivals and sitting around the kitchen table with family. He was an avid storyteller. He loved his grandchildren with all of his being and he will greatly be missed.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
