Robert Eugene Bridges

SHELBY - Robert Eugene Bridges, 82, a native of Lawndale, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Cleveland County Hospice of Wendover. He was born to the late James "Jim" Wright and Lona Ellene Spurling Bridges on November 20, 1935. He is also predeceased by his first wife, Jean Bridges; brother, James "Jimmy" Rex Bridges and William "Bill" Fred Bridges.

Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 42 years, Dianne Morgan Bridges of the home; daughters, Norma Richards of Lawndale, Libby Payne of Taylorsville and Anissa Hudson of Lawndale; son, Dean White of Lawndale; five grandchildren, Christy Downs of Taylorsville, Jennifer Parker of Polkville, Luke Hudson, Corey Hudson and Roxanne Hudson all of Lawndale; four great-grandchildren, Adriene, Calab, Cody and Breanna; sister, Peggy Ross of Kings Mountain; a special grand-dog, Fynn, who was his constant companion.

He was retired from Cleveland Mills and loved working and piddleing in his garage. He loved talking to people and telling old stories of Lawndale, his life long home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. 

A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date. The family will receive family and friends at all other times at, 1110 West Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, NC.
