Martha Jean (Lovett) Clark

FOREST CITY - Martha Jean Lovett Clark, 63, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Hospice of Rutherford County surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late James R. Petty, Jr. and Martha Lovett McKinney on June 19, 1954 in Rutherford County, NC.

She is survived by her companion, Charles Toms of Rutherfordton, NC; one son, Christopher Lee Clark of Forest City, NC; two granddaughters, Erika Necole Carpenter, 18, of Daytona Beach, FL and Jada Simone Clark, 4, of Forest City, NC; eight siblings, Jerry Lovett of Virginia, Jimmy Lovett of Forest City, NC, Susan McKinney of Forest City, NC, James McKinney of Forest City, NC, Sandra McKinney of Spartanburg, SC, Valencia Lovett Williams of Spartanburg, SC, Stacy Lovett Vance of Virginia, Carolyn Lovett Williams of Greer, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martha devoted a huge portion of life caring for others. Before and during her battle with cancer she devoted most of her time caring for her mother. She will truly be missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service to honor the life of Martha will be held at 2pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Paul AME Zion, 200 Lawing Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
