CHARLOTTE - Karen Henderson Gibson, age 67 passed away peacefully on January 16, 2020, after a 5 year battle with cancer. She was born July 16, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Alice Henderson. She was married on June 26,1981 to David Thomas Gibson in Toledo Ohio.
Karen loved the word of God, people and restaurants in that order. She served as a Precept Bible Study leader, enjoyed church prayer ministry, and leading small group discipleship Bible studies. Trusting the power of God’s word, she took time to mentor and provide biblical counsel to numerous ladies during her lifetime.
Karen had a unique singing voice that she used to glorify God in choirs and gospel singing groups. Her education includes a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati in Social Work, and a AA. in Medical Office Assistant (dean's list). Karen worked in a variety of careers including Homemaker, Probation/Parole Officer, Social Worker, Addictions Counselor, on air radio person at Son life Radio,and Medical Office Assistant.
Family members include, Husband David Thomas Gibson, Mother Alice Henderson, Son David Anthony Thomas Gibson Jr.,his wife Lauren and a Grand daughter - Annie Rose Jones - age 3, Brother Duane Henderson - Deceased, Terry Henderson - Ohio, Sister in law Sonja Allison - Salisbury,, niece Sharla Gillespie and nephew Dustin Gillespie. And a community of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please join us in celebrating her life Tuesday January 21, 2020, between 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Main Campus, 7200 E W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215.
