SHELBY - Joe Alan Collum, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his father, Arthur M. Collum.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Leora “Dolly” Collum of Shelby, NC; sister, Jan Halford of Shelby, NC; brother, Jeff Collum and wife, Kelly Collum of Shelby, NC; niece, Jenna Halford of Shelby, NC; aunts, Mrs. Nancy Corley, Mrs. Lois Marlowe, Mrs. Sylvia Miller and husband, Wayne Miller, and several cousins, all of Lexington, SC; special friends, Gene and Sherri Cox, Amy Cox Harrelson, Jennifer Cox Ford, and Erin Cox Farrington, all of Shelby, NC and Amy, Jess, and Bailey Dulin of Kings Mountain, NC.
Joe worked as an Educator. He enjoyed doing carpentry, farming but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC with Rev. Michael Frazier and Mr. Gene Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the volunteer mission fund at Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 OR Crossroads Rescue Mission, Shelby, NC 28152. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park 1225 College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28152.
Arrangements are entrusted to Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC of Boiling Springs, NC.
