SHELBY - Jerry Purser Harper, 79, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Artium - Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Vernon and Vera Purser Harper on April 08,1939 in Mississippi. He is also predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Ann Harper

Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memories daughter, Amber Cordell  and husband, Jodi Cordell of Wilmington, NC; son, Damon P. Harper of Sarasota, FL; son, Terry H Gatlin, Jr. of Ackerman, Mississippi; daughter, Stacie G. Atkins and husband, Michael Atkins, Jr. of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Paige G. Richard and husband, Shane of Shelby, NC, Samantha M. Cordell of Wilmington, NC, Faith C. Brittain of Shelby, NC and Sarah G. Brittain of Shelby, NC; great-grandchildren, Jaxon B. Richard and Evie S. Richard; sisters, Barbara Ann Pressley of Orlando, FL and Sandra Kay Ayers of Jackson, Mississippi; special friends, Paul Scott and Susan Mull.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13th, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Shelby, 307 Country Club Road, Shelby, NC 28150. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
