Jean Evelyn (Colvard) Shipton

CHERRYVILLE- Jean Evelyn Colvard Shipton, 82, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Wendover Hospice. She was born to the late Clyde and Myrtle Colvard. 

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memories her four children, Randall Gaddis of Lenoir, Sheila Gaddis of Gastonia, Jeffery Gaddis of Gastonia and Melissa Reep of Cherryville; nine grandchildren,Takisha Hamrick (Robert), Travis Shipton (Kasey), Thomas Shipton (Ciara), Ashley Tipton (Joshua), Lashary Gaddis, Precious Gordon, Cedric Gaddis, Jamicia Gaddis and Joseph Gaddis; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roma Queen and Nancy Burch; brother, Carol Colvard.

Jean enjoyed fishing, especially for cat fish, computer games and puzzles. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She will truly be missed.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Ross Grove Baptist Church, Shelby, NC with Pastor Gary Hollifield officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
