Gilbert Clyde Yelton, Jr.

RUTHERFORDTON - Gilbert Clyde Yelton, Jr., 70, a native of Rutherford County, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born to the late Gilbert Sr. and Gladys Cartee Yelton on June 6, 1947.

Gilbert leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Tina Yelton; son, Wayne Yelton of Mooresboro, NC; step-son, Randy Dale Yelton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Yelton (Cindy) of Forest City; Sister, Diane Yelton of Lyman, SC; brother, Larry Yelton (Sandy) of Spindale, NC; sister, Cindy Henderson (Donald) of Caroleen, NC; a very special nephew, James Yelton of Forest City.

Gilbert was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church of Bostic, NC.  He worked as an Auto Body Technician in Forest City. He will be truly loved and missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Glenwood Baptist Church, 461 Bostic Sunshine Highway, Bostic, NC 28018 with the Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating.
