Clyde R Harris

MOORESBORO - Clyde R. Harris, 83, son of the late George and Selma Harris, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his home. He is also predeceased by a brother, Harvey Harris; sister, Doris Harris Scruggs.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Greene Harris of the home; mother-in-law, Catherine Greene of the home; daughters, Cheryl Griffin and husband Tim of Kings Mountain, NC and Dawn Alexander and husband Richard of Mooresboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Brittney McCurry and husband Matt, Tyler Hunt, Alyssa Hunt, Jessica Alexander, Amber Alexander, Sydney Alexander and Camden Alexander; three great-grandchildren, Katie, Addison and Ryker; two brothers Burel and wife Pam Harris of Shelby, NC and Bill and wife Lou Harris of Greer, SC. 

Clyde was a graduate of Mooresboro High School of 1955, he served in the Army National Guard, he was a life long member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, served on various mission trips and was the founder of People on a Mission Sunday School Class. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and was avid Atlanta Braves and Duke fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 with Pastors Mike Frazier and Pastor Todd Bolin officiating,  Visitation 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. Burial in the church cemetery.
