Viola Louise (Joy) Martin

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Viola Louise Joy Martin, 46, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at her residence. She was born to the late George Joy and Reba Camp Saulsbury. Viola is also predeceased by two brothers, George Joy, Jr. and Randy Joy. 

She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Priscilla Smith (Taylor), Cory Martin, Cody Martin, Olivia Martin and Elizabeth Martin; one granddaughter, Emma Marie Smith and baby Dean Wood Smith (Due January 2017); one brother Raymond Joy; sisters, Carol Frye, Kim Sparkman, Donna Joy; one aunt, Elizabeth "Libby" Anthony; last but not least her beloved dog "Rocky".

Viola was a beautiful woman with lots of spunk. She was a kind, thoughtful and giving person who found many ways to help those less fortunate than herself. She volunteered for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and performed Missionary work in Africa and the Dominican Republic. She was pursuing her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. She enjoyed running and watching sunsets.

A memorial service has not yet been planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donors choice.
