Shirley Mae (Smith) Weeks

SHELBY - Shirley Mae Weeks, 72, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Cleveland County Hospice - Wendover surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born on September 6,1945 in Cleveland County. She is predeceased by her mother, Bessie Evelyn Smith; father Johnny Jerome Smith; son, Billy David Weeks, Jr.; daughter, Loretta Jean Weeks Elliott; grandson, Robbie Lee Weeks; two brothers, William Boyd Smith and Johnny (Dunnie) Jerome Smith, Jr.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Billy David Weeks of the home; daughter, Lisa Weeks Goins of the home; daughter-in-law, Tonda Weeks (Billy David Weeks, Jr. widow); seven grandchildren, all of Cleveland County, Miranda Elliott Navey and husband Jason Navey, Rodney Elliott and wife Christy Elliott, Davie Weeks, Bobby Weeks, Daniel Weeks and Brandon Weeks; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Barbara Anne Jones and husband Gerald Jones of Georgia , Jackie Dean Smith and Wife Priscilla Ann Smith and Linda Carol Toney and Husband Randy Toney all of Cleveland County; seven nieces; fourteen nephews.

Shirley loved spending time with her loving husband Billy Weeks at their Beach House. She also loved to sit outside in her swing at her Cleveland County home with her husband and family. She will always be remembered for being the most loving and caring woman there was. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. She will truly be missed.

A private memorial service will be held.
