Opal Jane (Layton) Garcia

ROCK HILL - Opal Jane Garcia, 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on April 3, 1951 to the late Ira Audie and Elwanda Geraldine Mason Layton.  She is also predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Joanne Symon and Susan Darlene Layton; two brothers, Dale Ray Layton and Darren Mason.

Her spirit is carried on by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Garcia of the home; children, Marvin Marion Garcia (Sandy Ray), Randy Dwayne Garcia (Donna Kay), Bobby Lynn Harris (Danny), Danny Lee Garcia (Carlene McKee), Eddie Christmas, Joey Christmas, Amber Freeman, Jesse McKee, Blake McKee and Lauryn Holden: grandchildren, Bobby Garcia Townsend, Randi Renee Fink, Richard Daniel Wines, Katie Nicole, Garrett Eli Garcia, Tommy Lee Harris, Randy Dwayne Garcia II; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lian, Peyton and Baby Fink (Due Oct. 2016), Kasey Nicole and Judy Paulette Starnes, Aiden and Sadie Garcia, Tyler, Chase, Seth Christmas, Jeremy Freeman Kaiden Christmas, Jordan and Gavin McKee, Savanna, Hunner, Summer and Autumn Holden, Harper and Skylar McKee; one sister, Louise Goodman; one brother, Ira Dwayne Layton; numerous nieces and nephews; last but not least her faithful furbaby, Chuckie.

She enjoyed making crafts, canning vegetables and other items and loved taking pictures especially of her family that she dearly loved and they dearly loved her. She was a very special lady that would put a smile on anyone's face and a warm feeling in their heart. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. 

A 2:00 pm funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at True Gospel Interdenominational Church, 511 Wilson Street, Stanley, NC 28164 with the Rev. Randy Sutherland officiating. A visitation from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm will be held prior to the service.
