Marcia Blakeley Whisnant

SHELBY - Marcia Blakeley Whisnant passed away the morning of Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby.
Marcia was born Aug. 25, 1957, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Her passion in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all. She was a beautiful woman who never met a stranger. She was a faithful member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved sharing her faith with others.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 39 years Dana Whisnant; their children, Nicholas Whisnant and wife Stephanie, Blake Whisnant and wife Amanda; her father, Bob Blakeley; her brother, Robert Blakeley and wife Beth; her sister, Paula Ramsey and husband Donnie, all of Shelby; a number of nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her Mother, Marcia Nell Cantley Blakeley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Don Gibson Theater, 318 S. Washington St., Shelby N.C. Visitation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial in Marcia’s memory should be made to Wendover Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice for taking such good care of our "Marshmallow".
