Karen Lucille (Gardner) Shepherd

SHELBY - Karen Lucille Shepherd, 62, a native of Cleveland County, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born on June 5, 1954 to the late, William and Lucille Hendrick Gardner.

Karen leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters, Samantha Nicole Hawkins and Jamie Lorin Clary (Travis); a son, Colt Aaron Biddix; three grandchildren, Joshua Barrett, Lacy Wiggins and Emily Wiggins; three brothers, Jerry Gardner (Joyce), James Gardner (Nancy) and Stephen Gardner (Diane) all of Shelby.

Karen was a dedicated member of Sunrise Baptist Church, Kings Mountain and also of a church prayer group. She wrote poetry, enjoyed knitting and was a very dedicated mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart. She will continue to be loved and truly missed by all of those who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church, 1130 Double Springs Church Road, Shelby, NC 28150 on Saturday, February 25, 2017 with the Rev. Bill Fryar, Sr. Pastor officiating and interment following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
