Edward "Ed" Donald Roberts

NORTH WILKESBORO - Edward "Ed" Donald Roberts, 81, after a long illness went to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Villages of Wilkes. He was surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born to the late Ben Logan and Katherine Borders Roberts in Cleveland County, NC. He is also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Mary Bridges, Nell Carroll, John Logan Roberts, Betty Gailmore, George Roberts, Eva (Sis) Harrill and Josh Roberts.

Ed leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 18 years, Stella Roberts of the home; one daughter, Tracy Calloway (Charles) of Shelby; two grandchildren, Chris Tessneer (Holly) and children of Kings Mountain and Holly Ramsey (Brandon) of Shelby; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Layla Ramsey of Shelby; one brother, Jerry Roberts (Jackie) of Kings Mountain; one sister, Dorothy (Dot) Campbell of Charlotte; several beloved nieces and nephews.

He served in the United States Navy. He was a long-time member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. He worked as a delivery driver for Patterson Greenhouses for 33 years. Then he was the owner/operator of Briarpatch Nursery for about 20 years. He loved the outdoors and taking care of plants. He also enjoyed fox hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Grace Covenant Church of God, 1101 County Home Road, Shelby, NC 28152 with Pastor Mickey Pruitt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted at the Church for the service. Donations may be made to Grace Covenant Church of God, P.O. Box 162, Shelby, NC 28151.

Services are entrusted to Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC of Boiling Springs, NC.
