Ann Laura Ruth (Hartis) Bailey

SHELBY - Ann Bailey, age 75 of Shelby NC passed away peacefully at home, Friday October 21, 2016.

Ann Bailey was preceded in death by her parents William Hartis and Loma Cook Hartis Goode and granddaughter Heather Wallace, brother Jerry Hartis, sisters Mary Mullis and Leona Wallace.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammie Sexton and husband Tim Sexton of Shalotte, NC. Kay Stamey and husband Bo of Shelby NC, Betty Towery and husband Mark of Shelby NC,Linda Burnham and husband Kevin of Shelby, NC; brothers Bill, Walter and Bud Hartis, Charlie and Earl Goode; sisters, Elfreida Shootman and Sue Rich; grandchildren, Michael Lee and Wife Deana of York SC, Hannah Almond of Kings Mountain, NC, Savannah Finger of Shelby, NC, Madison Finger of Shelby, NC, Christopher Sexton of Shalotte, NC and Lucas Burnham of Shelby NC, Jamie Sexton of Arden NC, Jennifer Hubard of Shelby NC, Stephanie Towery of Shelby NC, Amanda Towery of Shelby NC, Jeff Stamey and Wife Melissa of Concord NC; great-grandchildren, James (little Michael) Lee of York SC, Cadence Stamey of Concord NC and Mckenzie Stamey of Concord NC.

 Ann played bagpipes in a band, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, crafting, gardening and cooking with her family.  She is loved and will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends and loved ones 6 - 8 pm Monday, October 24, 2016 at Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church, 2506 Shoal Creek Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 25, at 2 pm at Cleveland Memorial Park 1225 College Avenue, Boiling Springs, NC 28017 with Pastor Jerry W. Allen officiating.
